StoKaChic : Mathematical Haute Joaillerie

This interactive installation offers an immersive experience that highlights three different forms of human intelligence: the ability to perceive beauty, to understand complexity, and to connect one with the other.

Research at the Laboratoire de Mathématiques d'Orsay on stochastic geometry led to the creation of jewellery pieces (pendants). They are shaped like cells of ideal Poisson-Voronoi tessellations in three-dimensional hyperbolic space. 

These jewellery objects stand at the core of the installation. Visitors explore them through an interactive path that reveals the mathematics behind their beauty.
